A’niyah Jackson was born in Buffalo, New York, and she was just 2 when she started her dance training. She has received training from 3 different studios including Miss Barbaras School of Dance, Buffalo City Ballet, and The Future Dance Center. A’niyah has been in many performances, recitals and even competitions with her dance studios over the years. She has competed at Tremaine for 1 year with her studio The Future Dance Center. She learned things like commercial dance, teamwork, creativity, and filming dance at Tremaine. At these studios she has received training in assorted styles including ballet, hip-hop, African, modern, etc. She has learned things such as technique, choreography, improvisation, stage presence, etc. at all 3 studios.  She is now a first-year dance major at The Ohio State University (OSU) also on the pre-med track. During her time at OSU A’niyah plans to work more on choreography and improvisation. A’niyah believes that you do not have to be a “perfect” dancer with high extensions and perfect technique to be able to dance, and she believes that OSU was a wonderful place to study dance while having that belief. While at OSU she wants to do something where she can use the knowledge, she gains from taking the pre-med track and see if she can use that with her dancing. A’niyah has been dancing her whole life and she hopes to continue it after her 4 years at OSU.
